caused me to misunderstand your intent. The last time I checked you schedule teams you play (outside your district). And as far as titles go, when is the last time Mighty DB won one? A school 4 times the size of GC? Heck, a little school in Scott County 1/8 their size has one in recent memory! You'd think with all the students they have and the hundreds added through annexation they could win something! And mythical titles won in the 1920's before there were playoffs don't count.

And IF my aunt were a man, she'd be my uncle. It's a worthless argument b/c we simply don't know what the mindset was before any one game. Having played myself under Coach Adkins, he never came in and told us that we needed to fully expect to lose by double-digits...so I'm almost 100% sure that the kids' confidence in themselves going into any one game was high enough to win if they could.

ANDREW ADKINS IS THE BEST PLAYER IN SW VA. How many other players with a year to go has 1600 plus points?????? Instead of bashing him we should be proud to have a player of his talent in this area. Also, he is a straight A student.

I'd say Anderson has 1300+ but he also has 2 others who averaged double figures on his team. But without those 2, who knows, he could have had more he could have less.

From what I understand, AA is a class act off the court as well, and has always shown tons of class on the court...

We all know the other player in question here comes with tons of baggage, and doesn't tote 1/100th the class off the field/court that Adkins does...


By the way GC1, as long as DB smashes the city of greatness, I could care less about a title, heck that is the title for me....hahahaha.....Winning titles are a little harder against 2,500 kid schools than 400 kid schools, but I'm not making excuses....You are talking likethey are so huge, heck they aren't even the biggest in the tri-cities, and without them who would feed the city of greatness???? Didn't I see a boy that wasn't gettin playin time at DB suited up for Great City in the post season last year?????

I'd just as soon lose to DB, a much larger school, and win titles HaHa! And if you're playing schools your size you should compete SOMETIME IMO, If I'm not mistaken DB is near 2,000. Heck GC still plays against schools bigger than them at the A level even in Region D now. And especially up the state. And the player you refer to last season (I assume you're referring to the 06,07 season) was only a Soph. when he last played at DB so you would wxpect some upperclassmen to be ahead of him.

Just for arguments sake whose spot would Adkins take at Gate City or George Wythe? His style of play doesn't exactly mesh with the up tempo full court press that both of those teams use.
